Energy Sappers hide in unsuspecting places, and you need all the voltage you can get for today's high stress world. Try these ideas to regain your power.

1. Lighten Up Lunch. A hefty midday meal packed with carbohydrates is a proven energy drain. Choose strengthening protien such as chicken or fish over some steamed vegetables for afternoon zest.

2. Consider The Clutter. Disorganization of time, home, or routine, can be a symptom of an overwhelmed, exhausted life. If your bills are always late, sign up for an automatic payment service or automatic withdrawal. If you are always late because you are alway broke get The Minimum Wage To Millionaire Course: The Working Class Guide To Financial Freedom at www.RichardHackworth.com .

3. Pour On The Fiber. According to a study by researchers at Cardiff University in Whales, people who ate cereal containing 6 to 12 grams of fiber in the morning showed a 10 percent increase energy.

4. Pop A Peppermint. In simulated driving scenarios, the smell of peppermint reduced fatigue by 15%, according to a NASA funded study.

5. Check Your Iron Level. Nearly one in five Americans are iron deficient. Load up on spinach or iron-fortified cereal.

6. Take A Drink. Even slight dehydration can cause you to tire easily and diminish short term memory. Keep a bottle of water handy and sip throughout the day.

7. Sit Up Straight. Slouching uses muscles constantly. It shortens chest muscles and reduces flexibility and inhibits breathing.

8. Go Toward The Light. By exposing yourself to just 20 minutes of sunlight each day you will stimulate neurotransmitters in your brain that improve your mood and increase motivation. Walk to work, open your blinds, and eat lunch in a sunny spot.

9. Learn To Breath. I know that sounds crazy but our bodies get lazy and we don't breath the way nature intended. Stress causes people to rev up and then crash mentally. If you feel anxiety coming on, close your eyes and inhale deeply through your nose, filling up your lungs and abdomen, for a count of 10. Keep breathing this way for a minute or two.

10. Skip The Coffee. Brew a warm cup of green tea instead. It contains L-theanine. An amino acid that has been shown to induce relaxation and reduce anxiety without causing fatigue or sleepyness.

11. Finally, Shake Things Up. If you live on a steady diet of autobiographies try fiction instead. Instead of taking an hour long walk at night try taking martial arts class for fitness. You will ignite your brain and boost your spirit.

By Richard Hackworth
Best Selling Author, Lecturer and Radio Celebrity

Overcoming the 5 excuses not to exercise

If you fitness routine consists mostly of you talking about why you can't exercise, it's time to get motivated the Richard Hackworth way. As the author of over 100 books on the topics of health, wealth, and success I know all the excuses for not doing anything.

Here are my five tips for overcoming exercise excuses.

1. Boring. That's right. Most people think that exercise is boring. How do you overcome the boredom? Move to the groove. University studies show that you'll exercise 30% longer if you do it to music. No joke. Researches at Springfield College in Massachusetts found that participants who listened to music while working out, trained 30% longer than they did on days without the music.

2. It's too hard. That's my favorite. Don't over do it. Just start small. Plan to walk just 10 or 15 minutes. If you feel like going a little longer then go for it but if not that was a good start. Try to increase the time that you are walking or exercising by just a few minutes every week. Soon you will be walking for hours without feeling tired.

3. Don't have time. This one is even funnier. Just double up what you are doing. If you have some inspirational cd you have been planning to listen to or a good book on audio. Just pop it in your cd player, plug in your headphones and start working out while you listen. You have just done two things that are good for you at the same time.

4. Don't choose to exercise. Plan to exercise. Make it a part of your daily schedule. If you find you're prograstinating work out first thing in the morning. Get up early and get it over with. You will find that you feel better all day and have more energy because of it.

5. What do I get out of it? For some of us the fact that we will live longer and be healthier is not incentive enought to workout. So for us pampered few, do what I do. Keep track of your weight and measurements. When you improve, reward yourself with a movie or a massage.

To your health,
Richard Hackworth
www.ActionRadio.net

A Personal Message From Richard Hackworth

Your health is the foundation of your personal success in life.
